Silent Ringtones
One thing about cell phones has always puzzled people from the beginning. It’s the same thing that’s always kids need to learn to “grow out of”; once cellular became a staple for all well connected young adults and teens, questions of cellular etiquette and the ignoring of said etiquette from some children began swirling about. Children are rude in that they don’t know where certain things are acceptable; as we all grew up around this new technology, teachers had to take a very flexible attitude towards this strange new device. At first they were outlawed altogether; then once Jimmy’s parents said that he had to have his on him at all times for emergencies, rules started being bent. At some point, teachers and parents just agreed to be swept up in this new technology and cell phones were given carte blanche. One place they never were allowed though was in the classroom during lesson time. This couldn’t last for long and kids had to figure a way around this. Smart-aleck kids chose not how to figure out the “silent’ feature on their phones; probably because they had such cool ringtones. Then one day, a really clever teen learned of a technology used in the UK to shimmy away loitering teens called the “mosquito device.” Thus began the beginning of the end for teachers; silent ringtones were born. This technology was developed by a security company which actually exploits a real condition called presbycusis; the cumulative effect of age on hearing. The device was imported and transferred to a ringtone and circumvents the teacher from the discussion as the sound should be inaudible to anyone over, say, 20 years old.
This silent ringtone device is being used in classrooms to relay text messages all over the world this very instant. Silent ringtones are available all over the internet. Adults share, with some wonder, their curious fascination with the fact that they can’t hear this sound; kids congratulate each other in finding yet another way to show how smart they can be. Silent ringtones are advertised as The Teen Buzz ringtone or the mosquito ringtone and are available for sale or download in many different forms. The mosquito ringtone was the original in case you were interested. In your research, why not make sure you’re still young enough to hear it before going through the labor of downloading and installation. You can try and sample the technology at most reputable sites. The wildly unlikely success of this funny device has since been capitalized upon by its founder, the gent who invented this technology for his security company as Mosquitotone.
